This book was written during my COVID-19 illness and quarantine in the months of April and May 2020, when I was on the brink of death. As I fought the virus with every tactic I could muster, physical, mental, and spiritual, my struggle impressed upon me the need to share my experience with others. The physician in me wanted to chronicle the various stages of the battle of the patient in me with the corona virus that has ushered in a merciless pandemic which humanity last faced about a hundred years ago. I wanted to tell others of the terrifying rollercoaster ride that I was suddenly strapped into, and how it made me reach into the depths of my strength, willpower and positivity and use those defences to survive the intention, ferocity and speed of the ride towards death. Like Archimedes, who sprung out his bathtub and shouted Eureka! having discovered the physical law of buoyancy which he shared with the world, my discovery of my Near to Nature (N2N) therapy during my grim battle to survive, also needs to be shared with everyone. This therapy is at the heart of this book and the basis of my journey back to health. My own personalized N2N (Near to Nature) Therapy is based on scientific observation and experience. This organic management of health can be tried in tandem with current medical treatment or as an alternative to it, depending on the patient’s choice. While today's medical treatment protocols are highly effective intreating diseases, it’s a well-known fact that we have lagged behind in the treatment of contagious SARS-COV-2. This delay has impacted on mortality and morbidity, leading to medical management crisis, financial burden on healthcare systems as well as a global psychological crisis. So, what are the lessons we should learn from the pandemic? First, we need to focus on what we could have done differently. Next, we need to examine what we should do if such a calamity were to strike us again. The lessons of the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic are valuable for their ability to throw light on the way forward.
