In 1973, Bob Thomas drew a series of dancing bears to illustrate the back cover of the album History of the Grateful Dead, Volume One (Bear's Choice). Thomas said he imagined the bears as the basis for an imaginary typography. The bear is a reference to Owsley "Bear" Stanley who recorded and produced the album. Medicom pays tribute to the mythical group and to these famous bears which are all united in this Bearbrick 400% + 100% set.
